The Region 6 South Central Public Health Training Center offers free of charge, web-based courses through the Tulane Learning Management System (LMS). Course categories include: behavioral health, communication, environmental health, epidemiology, general public health, leadership and management, maternal and child health, public health preparedness and response, transgender health, tribal health, and more. This training was developed for Community Health Workers, Community Health Representatives, and Promotores de Salud in Oklahoma. The training modules are aligned with the CHW core competencies as described in the Community Health Worker Core Consensus (C3) Project (C3 Project). Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals

 

Public Health Foundational Competencies are a set of skills that public health professionals employ to more effectively promote health in their communities. The current listing of Foundational Competencies are detailed in the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) Core Competency models.

The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice designs these skills to best understand and assess public health workforce needs.
